Congratulations competition winners

Well done to the winners of the first Gallery & Barrow art competition “Bonny Botanical”. We were blown away by the high standard of entries and thank everyone for entering the competition. We currently have six winning pictures up in the gallery so if you’re passing do pop in and take a look

"New Beginnings” - Encaustic wax painting by Lynne Miller

"New Beginnings” - Encaustic wax painting by Lynne Miller

This lovely entry came in a pair by Lynne Miller all the way from North Carolina.  The coloured wax has been used to create these beautiful floral designs in a charming way and the finish almost looks like a ceramic tile. We just love them!

Some of the artists who entered the competition are professional botanical artists and it was a delight to see the variety of styles and methods used.

If you’d like to enter our next competition “Butterflies, Birds & Bees” - see the website menu “Art Competitions" for details

Showing precise technical skill, Esther's work is centred mainly on the themes of brokenness and restoration, ideas of symmetry and utopianism.
